  • set up library on SRD available for researchers/writers/students.

In translating our ideas into reality the impediments of limited resources and somewhat smallish team were overcome through and compensated for by the zeal, commitment and selflessness of few but devoted members of our team.

Response to and impact of our six years endeavors inspired us to expand our activities. Our understanding is that the same range of activities on broader scale and with all-encompassing approach is the need. This part experienced modernization as colonization, invasion and westernization. Unlike West where modernization was liberating, this region experienced it as confusing. Unable to cope with the fast changing and expanding world and its demands, confusion ensued. And many felt and continue to feel apprehensive and fearful of the march of modernity. Confused, many took refuge in conservatism and extremism. Unfortunately not enough has been done to quell these fears and apprehensions. We feel massive and persistent efforts are needed to counter this menace. We are trying to contribute our bit to contain this dangerous course of extremism. We feel confident that it will contribute significantly and the effort would help in dispelling the fears of common man  and promote not only understanding of the modernity but also Science-Religion Discourse (SRD) and its significance in the modern world. And in due time ensure lasting impact and become basis for recognition and consolidation of Science–Religion Discourse in academic circles of the country.

Society for Interaction of Religion, Science and Technology (SIRST) is outcome of years of deliberation and inspiration. We envision institutionalization of SRD in this part of the world through a wide range of activities focusing on all important areas and sections of our society using transdisciplinary approach to address fundamental and perennial questions concerning Man , Cosmos & God. SIRST’s vision is a world where tolerance, respect, understanding, harmony, peace and love prevail.
